Merry Christmas! I always enjoy spending time during this month with the Nativity passages in Matthew 1 and 2 and Luke 1 and 2. One thing that really jumped out to me again this year is God’s awareness and use of the geopolitical scene to continue to work in and through people’s lives. He used the global events and the restructuring of the Roman Empire’s tax system to not only get people where they needed to be but allow the opportunity for the shepherds to behold the Lamb of God!
In light of all that is going on in the national and international arena it is easy to wonder where God is and if He is really actively involved in the world. Luke 2 reminds us that God is at work, and even if we don’t totally understand everything that is going on, we can rest in Him and trust Him. While we certainly do not have answers to what the travel requirements will be when it gets time to go to Romania or if our plans to go to Honduras the end of December will work out smoothly, it is reassuring to know that God is actively at work in our lives to get us where we need to be when we need to be there so that we can reach who it is He wants us to reach.
It has been encouraging to watch God continue to bring in churches to partner with us over this last year, and we are very excited to be at 80% promised of our needed support! It is a joy to watch God bring not only the financial side of things together, but bring in many new friends and faithful prayer partners alongside of us as well. We have enjoyed traveling and meeting many new people and are so grateful for their demonstrations of love that have been shown to us and baby Serenity. We are looking forward to wrapping up the unique ministry of deputation over the next several months and seeing God bring in the final 20% of needed support!
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us, both personally and in regard to what God has called us to do. We appreciate each of you, and rejoice with great joy when we think of how God has used you in our lives! We hope and pray that this time is a wonderful time reflecting on what God has done and is doing in your lives!
