Why are you going to "reach" the Deaf in Romania?
(...and what does "reach" mean?)
Fair Question.
...and one we have heard from friends and acquaintances.
Simply put, to "reach" someone means to explain to them how to get to Heaven according to the Bible,
giving them a fair opportunity to respond positively or dismiss the message.
Why are we willing to invest the entirety of our lives into "reaching" people for Jesus?
Because we believe the Bible
The Bible says...
...that an infinite, almighty, omniscient, omnipresent, and holy God created everything that exists. That He created the Universe, and all it contains, including mankind, in 6 days. That mankind was created with a free will (choice) to love and commune with his Creator or dismiss this fellowship; reaping the natural consequences of either decision.

The Bible says...
...that the first man and woman on Earth chose to forego their communion with God by breaking His one law, thus committing sin. Since then, all succeeding generations have been born with this same sin nature, yet are also offered the choice of communion with their Creator, or dismissal thereof, with just consequences: eternal life, or eternal death accordingly.

The Bible says...
...that God so loved this sinful, rebellious population of mankind so deeply, that He voluntarily sent that which was most precious to Him - His only Son - to lowly, sinful earth; to take on human form, to experience human life, and to accept the execution of a common criminal; to pay the ultimate price that sin incurs: death.

The Bible says...
...that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead in 3 days, proving that He was God, and also proving that He had conquered death and Hell, victoriously paying in full the God-ordained, natural consequence of the sins of all mankind: death.

The Bible says...
...that for any man, woman, or child to be saved from the God-ordained consequence of their sinful nature and actions, they must believe and accept God's provision of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection as the only means of paying for their sin. Upon accepting Jesus' death as payment - in full - for their sin, they are automatically and immediately forgiven and declared righteous and lawfully released from condemnation. With their record now the righteousness of God, their are in right relationship with God and their destiny is settled in Heaven for eternity. To not trust in Christ's work alone is to incur the penalty of eternity in Hell.

The Bible says...
...that those who have chosen to receive Jesus' death as eternal payment for their sins have an obligation to ensure that others are given this choice as well, without regard to their cultural, linguistic, geographical, or racial background.

Therefore:
Since we have received the death of Jesus Christ as our substitution for the death we rightfully owe for sin,
we are now in a right relationship with God and on our way to Heaven.
We are saved for eternity from any fear of Hell.
We also have an obligation to share this wonderful, yet gravely serious, news with others (as does every Christian).
Though God does not call everyone to leave home and occupation and family to tell a people group, who have never heard, of His salvation,
He does do so at times...
...and He has called us.
Considering He gave up His throne in Heaven - his rightful place as King of the Universe -
to be treated as less than a common criminal
and humiliated by the very men He created
to pay for OUR sin...
It is our supreme privilege to give our lives to God's mission of reaching people with the Gospel.
Whatever He asks of us.
Wherever He takes us.
Whenever He wants us.
And to think He goes with us! What an honor to serve such a King.
